The John Goldie Band

As well as performing solo, with Martin Taylor and with Spirit of Django, John also tours with his own quartet. The band comprises of some of Scotland’s finest musician from the world of jazz, Celtic and folk.

The band is driven by the drum and percussion skills of Jim Drummond. Jim is best known as a rock drummer but has a touch that few can match. Giving Jim a run for his money is Duncan Lyle on double bass. A star of the jazz world, Duncan is a versatile player who adds an extra dimension to the band. The line up is completed by accordionist Angus Lyon who has the spirit of Fredo Gardoni within him. His flare adds touches that make the music come alive.

With a band of this quality behind him, John is allowed to experiment and improvise giving their performances an edge that is hard to replicate on record. Make no mistake… this is one of the best live bands around.
