Sorry for the lack of activity on the site but we will be updating the site over the coming weeks. John has just finished recording his new album with Nick Turner at Watercolour Music and the album has already been causing a bit of a stir. The as yet un-titled album is a covers album of rock classics all done with just one acoustic guitar and John's unique style. Brian May and Ronnie Woods have been saying some extremely kind things about it. We will let you know when we have a name and a release date. In the meantime check out some promo videos of the songs on the album on John's myspace.

‘Open 4 Closure’ is the brilliant full band CD from The John Goldie Band.

In his latest recording, John is joined by fellow Scottish luminaries Angus Lyon on accordion, Duncan Lyall on upright bass and Jim Drummond on drums. Together the band fuse traditional music with a Jazz tinge to create a dynamic band sound that ranges from the violently dancey ‘Back Door Creeper’ to the eloquently phrased ‘An Honorary Scot’.

John was commisioned to write music for the TV comedy Dear Green Place which won a Scottish BAFTA for Best Entertainment at the recent award ceremony.This successful comedy show is now on it's second series.

Residential Workshops . As a result of feedback though both live shows and magazine columns I will be running a couple of residential workshops early next year both north and south of the border .The workshops will be open to players of all abilities and take place in the relaxed atmosphere of a country hotel .I will be joined on the weekends by Max Milligan, who apart from being a great player is the acoustic tutor at the Guitar Institute in London .This is a unique opportunity for a limited number of people to participate in an intense weekend of guitar learning and playing and above all have fun!
